BELFAST: The city that dreams are made of.

Not many people realize what an amazing place Ireland is, specifically Belfast (although I do hold a special place in my heart for Derry & Dublin as well).

I spent this past weekend in Belfast, and I appreciated it so much more than when I lived there two years ago! Belfast is full of history, war, anguish... but when you are there all that goes out the window. The people are hilarious, everyone knows how to have a good time. The city is gorgeous, the shops are rockin, and the running trails (I'm a runner) are the best EVER!

Belfast is a tiny city surrounded by small green rolling hills. Here's how I spent a day: I woke up to eat in Maggie Mays, which is a small traditional Irish cafe. I had a full on Irish breakfast, then went shopping and spent a shit load of money in Top Shop and buying gifts for people, then went to where I was staying, changed into my running gear, ran 5 minutes to Lagan Meadows park and spent the next two hours running up and down hills, passing sheep, cows and dogs, I ran along the river and over the small bridge, I ran through leaves and off the path. It was so great, I wasn't even keeping track of where I was, all I was thinking is how great the country was and how I might move back there some time in the future. When it was all done I must have ran about 16 miles!

On my way back home, I bumped into my friend and we made plans to meet at the Christmas market and then have dinner. We had a few pints at the Christmas beer tent then we went to a Portuguese restaurant and had way too much wine, then I changed into my dancing clothes and partied til late... OMG... it was SOOOO great! I wish I was back there right now!

I cant understand why the whole world doesn't move to this country, the world would be a much happier place if it was all like Ireland!

More blogs on Ireland to come. xo.
