El Clasico

This weekend was a great weekend filled with lots of sports, I ran Prospect Park (so gorgeous in the fall), I walked the Central Park Reservoir and most importantly Spanish Guy and I and his crew watched Barcelona Kick Madrid's butt in El Classico! The Spaniards go crazy for soccer (Futbol), so I'm happy that my husband met people to share his passion, and its always cool for me to experience it. After the first goal people were screaming, banging the tables, singing, the ambience was WILD!

Great weekend!

Now on to Halloween Festivities!

life.

I'm working from a little cupcake/coffee shop today in the West Village. It's super charming. I love the flexibility of my job. But as I'm here, I'm thinking how much more I want out of life. Like super duper experiences and happiness.

Passion drives me.
Not very deep, I know, just a quick thought.

PARIS

So with this whole move, I haven't been able to blog about my time in Paris or the other places I visited for that matter. But I'll do it slowly. (The internet still isn't set up at my place, soo..)

When I arrived in Paris, I was beat! So tired! I didn't sleep well, I had a middle seat in the middle rows on the airplane with an older woman that enjoyed being shoe-less and putting her feet up (on me), anyway, thats besides the point. When I arrived, I met my friend in the airport and we navigated the Paris Metro System to make our way to our lovely apartment we would call home for the next few days.

At 4pm we arrived, showered, dressed and stepped out into the charming streets of Paris, stopping for wine, having street food, shopping in small boutique shops, it was so glamourous, I felt like a million bucks! The energy of Paris intoxicated me in a way that no other city has. I was blown away by its architecture and the beauty of its people.

The best part was:

I have friends living in Paris so everyday, like pros, they showed us around, took us through the side streets, invited us to their home for brunch, and the most perfect experience (for me) was that we had picnics!

My dream was to spend the summer in Paris drinking wine, cutting fresh flowers and eating Brie cheese and baguettes, and thats just what we did. Our picnics included an Eiffel Tower backdrop, we sat on park benches eating and drinking, along the river, where ever we were inspired.

And thats how I spent the first leg of my Euro Trip. Living my life with no cares, no worries, doing as I pleased, sleeping as much as I wanted and staying out until the crack of dawn, practicing my French and feeding my soul.

Interior Design

My beautiful Crate and Barrel couch has arrived, I'm in love with it, and I'm sure it's my artistic side, but I LOVE interior decoration. I like playing around with colors, textures and layers to make my home unique and comfortable. This is just the beginning!

I'm going with a cream, brown and navy blue color scheme. And playing around with the "bringing the outdoors indoors" idea. I'll continue to post as it comes together.

Manhattan to Brooklyn

bye Upper West Side
Today makes one week that we've been in our new apartment. Back to Brooklyn as we've been saying. Spanish Guy is super happy about the move. Being raised in the mountains, he wanted a little more peace and quiet, so we moved to a residential area of Brooklyn. But my restless soul craves the big city life. I loved just walking out of my building and being in the center of it all, and you can't get better than having Central Park a few steps away, but we gave all that up. I guess thats what you do when you're married. We gave all that up for a fully-renovated, quiet, beautiful, extremely large apartment in a charming Brooklyn Neighborhood. I guess it's not that bad, and I have to remember it was an intentional choice, we weren't forced into it, so hopefully I just need some time to adjust...

we'll see.

It's been crazy ordering new furniture, getting cable and internet installed, I don't know how anyone with a strict full-time job would be able to manage this, because it's been a lot of missed days of work for me in order to wait for deliveries and etc. Luckily my job is extremely flexible and doesn't mind if I work from home, so here I am right now waiting for our new couch to arrive from Crate and Barrel! :D

It's been nice so far, having nothing to do, but cook, shower and chit-chat, without any other distractions and without lots of external stimulation. When we were in Manhattan I used to get home from work, run in central park, shower, go out for drinks or dinner, walk around, have a gelato, and head home at around midnight, almost every day. Now in Brooklyn, I get home from work a little later (because I'm farther away from work), have a conversation with my husband, cook together, wash dishes, shower and lay down for bed at around 10pm. Our lives have slowed down dramatically. I guess thats what happens when you move from Manhattan to Brooklyn.

You have less time and less access...

But it's only been a week so far, so lets see if this continues.

More soon.

Monaco: casinos, cars, and luxury

After leaving Levanto, Italy, we drove a few hours along the famous highway parallel to the Mediterranean Sea, to one of the most famous, superficial, most expensive places on earth. I WAS IN THE CLOUDS...

We were in

MONACO!

We only spent a night there, but in just one day/night, we hit the casinos of Monte Carlo, we went to an all night pier party, we strolled the hilly streets and went to the shops, it was surreal. I had only seen people, cars and scenery like this in the James Bond movies!

The prices in the restaurants were through the roof, because of this we ate very little and ordered bottles of wine instead of glasses to save money ;)

We suffered in heels all day and night but despite that, we just felt absolutely fabulous!

We were in Monaco!

Saint Tropez, Southern France

In our car, on my way to the airport in route to a multi-week Euro Trip, my husband had the following song playing:

It provoked a curiosity about this cool place they were singing about. It sounded like paradise and fun all in one. So a week into our trip, we went...

Beach, boat rides and beauty, so was Saint Tropez
